“Dog Days” gone?
Here’s a tidbit from ABC33/40’s weather notes:
“…Dog Days End Today…
This will be one of those cases where the thermometer will not agree with the calendar. Today marks the official end to the Dog Days. The Dog Days are named for the Egyptian belief that during the period of time from July 3 through August 11 when the Dog Star Sirius rises and falls with the sun, that the star added to the heat of the Sun...."
