>Jul. 5, 1928, Southern Aegis: Col. N. B. Spears, former Republican national committeeman, died in Miami, Florida, Friday, June 29, 1928, burial at Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham, Saturday.
Col. Spears was 82 years old, and lived in St. Clair County until a few years ago when he moved to Florida. His home was at Pell City where he had his law office.
He was a member of the constitutional convention in 1901, which drafted the present constitution of Alabama and several times he represented St. Clair in the state legislature.
He served on the Republican state executive committee several times and until his removal from the state was active in Republican politics in the state.
Col. Spears came to Alabama from Tennessee and resided in Talladega a number of years where he was engaged in business. He removed from this city to Pell City. Talladega Home.
