If you are not ready, you may want to prepare for a wet weekend; and possibly a winter storm a few days later (around Dec. 2).

Here, we are prepared to get roofs ready for the wet, and possible cold weather. Made to two trips to pick enough galvanized roofing to get the new addition(s) done.

Marvin’s in Anniston had most of what we needed; but we had to drive to Gadsden’s Marvin’s for the last 4- 12 foot long sheets of metal.

Dave had spent the morning get a rack attached to the grey Ford cab roof, and camper top — then added a wooden cage/frame to support the sheets.

After a bit of fine-tuning for the tie-downs, and making sure we were ready to go. The trip went well. Dave said the truck was ‘getting light’ when he was driving near 55, just with the wooden frame up top.

Anyway, we got back, Dave put up one roof support beam; but waited until Billy came over for the last two beams.

For the past 45 minutes-an hour, ‘we’ have been tending food dishes on the wood burning stove: potatoes, chicken with gravy, and green beans.

Everything but the potatoes is ready…done.

Feeding time.

More later…

Just did the bathrooom stop for the middle of the night — the heater had ‘taken off’ — good thing I checked.

Now to let the firebox calm down for a few minutes more; before I try to go back to bed.

Anyway, I was early asleep; but not quite — I couldn’t get comfortable; guess it was the bathroom ‘thing’.

Well, it has been few minutes more — I think I will see how the fire looks…back in a couple.

Okay, the left air adjustment is closed; the right I open a quarter turn — the tough log is still not burning well; but it should hold the temp where it is for several more hours.

I’m going back to bed.

Take care.

10:34pm – 21 November 2005

I’m exhausted…but I guess I had better make sure the re-stoked/stirred fire doesn’t ‘take off’ before I call it a night.

Where am I typing from?

No, not the kithen table, nor the desk in the workroom…for those of you who might not know, Dave has been constructing an upstair room, joining the Q-hut and the trailer.

With only a few pieces needed to be fastened down; it is near completion. Stage one — it is a sun/green room. It helps to heat the place during the day; and it is the warmest spot in the evening (since heat rises).

It even has a two-bulb shop light installed.

As I said earlier, I will be calling it a night very soon — typically I am a ‘night owl’ — but tonight I can’t seem to think of anything but crawling between warm covers, and snoozing.

It could be the relief from the rain ending late tonight (after dark) — or the temps dropping, or simply that I am very tired, for various and sundry other reasons.

Ah, yes and I am also try to finish a bit of beer — so it won’t be left in the glass overnight. Tis a bit warm; but it could help me sleep better.

It tis gone; the fire seems well-mannered, highway traffic is about average; and my toes are about warm enough — so I think I will shut the shop light off, check a few things again, and call it a night.

It is such a freedom being able to type my thoughts here using my laptop — I really should do it more often. But I seem to be drawn to the MS box during the day — trying to get the stacks sorted/priced in the workroom.

Seems I am rambling more than usual.

It rained from 1:00am (overnight) until about 7:30-8:30pm — the cats were not happy. I could not feed them their dinner until the rain had finally stopped. 5 very unhappy, wet and frazzled cats did a very ‘happy’ dance and shared their dinner without any squabbles that I am aware of.

Tomorrow?

Well, it shouldn’t be raining.

I will know further about it when I wake up.

Until next I do get in the mood to write; please keep posted, I will do my best to refresh/add new item to this site.

Of course, it could be anything — from crafts, and rumors of movies, or ancient history tidbits.

It just depends on my topics of interests.

Thank you for reading.

“The Prestige” – with Bowie portraying Nikola Tesla.

Hm-m-m-m-m,

So it seems that this film is to be a ‘thriller’ involving Tesla, and two rival magicians…Tesla is to assist one magician with a special magic presentation/act; so where does this lead to.

It’s anyone’s guess at this point.
